Keep in mind that a lot has changed over the years in the world of orthodontics. Those clunky metal braces that you feared growing up are no longer your only option.

Today, there are more visible and invisible choices than ever before. Depending upon your orthodontic needs, you’ll have a variety of prices and options to choose from, which we’ll discuss when we meet with you for a consultation. Find out more.

Here’s a general overview of what’s out there.

  • Traditional Metal Braces

They are the most traditional form of orthodontics: small metal brackets bonded to the front of the teeth. A thin wire runs through the brackets and is attached on either end to metal bands that go around a back molar.

  • Clear Braces

Like traditional braces, they have small brackets bonded to the front surfaces of the teeth, with a horizontal wire running through them. However, instead of metal, clear braces use ceramic or plastic brackets, which blend in with the colour of your teeth. Find out how they can help to improve your confidence.

  • Removable Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are an alternative to fixed braces. In short, they are a series of clear plastic “trays” that fit precisely over your teeth, gradually moving them to the desired position. Discover removable clear braces.

The trays are designed with specialised computer modeling and are almost invisible. They can also be removed every few hours as necessary to eat.

  • Lingual Braces

These braces are similar to the traditional variety, but bonded to the back of your teeth, so no one can actually see them. See: Lingual Treatment Cost.
