Benefits | How It Works? | For Inside The Mouth | For Outside The Mouth
Comfortable procedures for our patients and optimal treatment outcomes drive the choices of technology in our dental practice.
For this reason, we have invested in the innovative air abrasion technology for those patients that primarily do not like the sound or feel of the dentist’s drill in their mouth.
This is contact-less dentistry at its best. In addition, we are moving towards using more laser tools also.
The air abrasion hand unit simply replaces the standard dentist’s drill for any treatment that requires cleaning out infected tissue from a tooth cavity or altering the surface texture of teeth before adhesive dentistry.
benefits of air abrasion technology
- No sound of the drill
- No drilling sensation on teeth
- Quick and easy to have done
- No pain/No anaesthetic
- No vibration/Minimally invasive
- Allows conservative and preservative treatment
- Suitable for most cases
- Precise and accurate direction
- Eliminates the risk of chipping/stress fractures during treatment
- No additional dust is created due to its unique design
For many patients, going to the dentist can be an anxiety-inducing experience. Using air abrasion tools instead of drills is one of the ways we intend to make the patient experience more comfortable.
Since this has proven to be a very popular technology, we have invested in two different varieties of the air abrasion unit, giving the clinician greater flexibility of use and wider treatment choices for the patient.
These are for use both inside and outside of the mouth. This means that we can perform beneficial dentistry in a comfortable and relaxing way for the patient.

how does the air abrasion technology work?
Micro fine aluminium oxide particles are blasted at high pressure through an extremely fine outlet on a hand held unit.
This highly advanced technology has produced a unit that is very lightweight and feels like using an electronic pen. This gives a superior level of control and precision to the dentist.
